How insulin affects swimmers:

I have a question for the Sweet Life community:
Do you know of any children or adults that swim competitively that are Type 1 diabetics?
My daughter was diagnosed 4 years ago at the age of 10. She has made Western Province 3 times and gone to Nationals for the last 3 years. We would love to chat to someone who also swims competitively and how they manage their diet and insulin.

She was on a pump for two years, but after a blockage ended up in ICU for 3 days and is now back on pens – her confidence in the pump took a knock. She also has to remove it when she swims which also has a negative effect on her readings.

Any advice?
– Pam
