Here are some more fantastic trails for you to try:
- The Old Fisherman’s Trail from False Bay to Hout Bay – 22km
A longer trail for the more experienced trail runner begins in Kalk Bay, climbing its way through Silvermine with a brief climb to the summit of Blackburn gorge – the views over Hout Bay will help you catch your breath.
- Braamfrontein Spruit – 18km one way / 36km return
A lovely run through the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens (Emmarentia Dam) and the Delta Park, a wooded, grassy area. You can start in different spots to break up the distance if you like.
- The Fish Eagle Trail – 10 km
Beginning at the Green Hub information centre, the Fish Eagle Trail is the longer version of the 4km Riverside Trail that leads runners further upstream to enjoy reed beds, coastal forest and some of the last remaining coastal grasslands.
- Beachfront run – 7km
Head off from Hobie Beach, keeping the sea on your left. After about 1.5km, you’ll hit beautiful boardwalks all the way past Pollock Beach. If you time it right, you can head onto the beach at the end of the boardwalk (3km) to make your way back.
