Are you looking for Healthy Living tips and advice? We’ve got it for you – in English, Afrikaans, Sepedi, Sesotho, Xhosa, Xitsonga and Zulu.
Helpful tips for healthy living
As part of our work with the Healthy Jozi project, we asked people living with diabetes to unpack the Healthy Food Guide and share some basic healthy living tips – in their own languages. Now you can watch their videos, in the language of your choice.
You can watch some helpful, basic advice on how to prepare a healthy plate: one quarter starch, one quarter protein and half a plate of vegetables (with lots of examples!) You’ll also find out which foods to avoid and which to choose instead, and a few useful general health tips – not about food, but about living a long, healthy life.
Although we created the Healthy Food Guide for people with diabetes, it also works if you’re living with hypertension (high blood pressure), cholesterol or if you need to lose weight. Everyone is welcome!
