Type 1 diabetes injection sites?

Good morning!
Question: I have been injecting my quick-acting insulin in my upper arm/s and my long-acting in my stomach area for the past 13 years.

Typical of insulin, a lot of fat build-up is present in these areas.

Can I rather start injecting in my upper legs and can I do it with both types of insulin?

Thanks for the help!

Injecting insulin in 1 area for so long will cause severe lipohypertrophy(severe fat build up) with consequent poor sugar control with unexpected highs and lows.Sites should always be rotated every 2-3 weeks
Long acting insulin should be given in thigh or buttocks as absorption is slower so therefore works more efficiently
Change injections to thighs and use different legs for long acting and short acting acting on a rotational basis
Do nmot touch arms or tummy until fatty deposits resolved (about 2-3 months )
    Hope this clarifies your query

I inject all over my tummy, thigh’s and bum so not to build up fat and so i don’t get bruised and everything has enough time to heal by the time the needle gets there again!

I have been on insulin for 4 years and only inject in the tummy.
Is that ok or should one alternate between tummy and thighs?
Please explain more about fat build up. Thanks

For my first 2 diabetic years i only ever injected in my stomach, and i developed like a tube of fat around my belly! i believe having a shot of insulin is like having a shot of fat!! so now that i spread it out so nicely that tube of belly fat has gone away…

I have been diabetic for 45 years and have experienced similar problems. My advice is to change sites, don’t like me get into habitual patterns. I find my stomach most useful moving around navel and moving outdated from it. Good luck and have a great life by looking after yourself
