Have you heard of the Correction Dose podcast? If not, you are in for a treat! Read on to find out all about it…
What is the Correction Dose podcast?
Correction Dose is a podcast for people with Type 1 diabetes who want to live full, happy, healthy lives – but don’t always know how.
The podcast is hosted by Cait, a writer, and Tracy, a medical doctor and adventure athlete – two T1D girls in their thirties trying to take charge of diabetes without letting it get in the way of a good time.
“We combine science-backed research with expert interviews and practical tips from our own experience.”
Plus, there’s a healthy dose of all the topics your endocrinologist won’t cover, like injecting on a first date, getting CGM glue off your arm, and what to do when your family acts like the diabetes police. We also do a new challenge every month to improve our glucose management.

Who is it for?
Correction Dose is for anyone living with Type 1 diabetes who wants to improve their diabetes management and feel less alone with this pesky illness. It’s for people who want to learn, laugh, and commiserate about life with diabetes.
What inspired you to start it?
I (Cait) was diagnosed when I was ten years old. For most of my life, I’ve managed my diabetes just well enough to stay out of trouble but there was so much room for improvement. A little while ago I was diagnosed with background retinopathy and it drove home the importance of good management.
I don’t want to have mediocre numbers. I want to be as healthy as possible and boss this whole diabetes thing so I can do all sorts of wonderful things well into my old age – but I wasn’t sure how to do it.
Besides writing, I produce podcasts for a living so I thought this would be a great way to learn and stay accountable and maybe help other people with diabetes too. I hunted high and low for a co-host with Type 1 and some medical knowledge. Then an acquaintance told me about Tracy who creates fantastic Instagram content about managing diabetes on big adventures.
We were instant podcast soulmates. We share the same practical but upbeat philosophy around diabetes and we crack each other up.
What gap do you hope the podcast fills?
Most people with diabetes have access to some kind of health education through a doctor and we all have plenty of data from our own daily experiences. But diabetes is very complicated and few of us know everything there is to know. We try to fill the gaps by covering topics your endocrinologist or diabetes nurse won’t cover and doing deep dives into practical topics.
The monthly challenge approach is digestible and achievable and we really want to help people see real change. We also know it can be lonely living with diabetes so we hope to create a sense of community and reach people who just need to know that someone gets it. Lastly, there are lots of diabetes podcasts out there but every person with diabetes is different.
If you’re looking for an upbeat, take-it-in-our-stride attitude with occasional tears and plenty of honesty, that’s us!
What makes your life sweet?
For Tracy, it’s getting on her bike or her surfboard, being in nature, and spending time with her friends (she also loves to go down a medical research rabbit hole figuring out some diabetes question).
For me, it’s my dog, coffee, dark chocolate, good books, long walks, old friends, traveling, and movie nights on the couch with my husband.
