One of our community members reached out to tell us about her new initiative, T1D Made Easy. Read on for more info!
What is T1D Made Easy?
T1D Made Easy is a community-focused diabetes clinic and support initiative I created to make life easier for people living with Type 1 diabetes, especially those from low- and middle-income communities. The clinic is designed to be a safe, empowering space where people can access personalised dietician care, essential devices like CGMs and insulin aids, and community support through education, events, and advocacy.
What do you hope to achieve with it?
My goal is to bridge the gap in diabetes care. Many of the people who need support the most can’t access devices like CGMs or regular consultations with healthcare professionals. I want T1D Made Easy to be the link for making advanced diabetes tools and care both affordable and accessible, while creating a space for connection, empowerment, and joy. Ultimately, I want to change how T1D is managed in under-resourced communities.
Why do you care so much about Type 1 diabetes?
This is personal for me. My little sister was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a baby, and I’ve seen the challenges she and our family have faced over the years. Devices like the CGM completely changed her quality of life. That experience, combined with my passion as a dietician, is what drives me to help others access the same care and support.
How can community members collaborate with you?
I welcome partnerships from all corners – whether you’re a person living with T1D, a healthcare provider, a community organizer, or an organization.
People can:
- Join our community education days
- Collaborate on outreach events or advocacy campaigns
- Donate diabetes tools or educational materials
- Share their stories to inspire and educate others
Anyone interested can reach out via email or social media. We’re building this movement together.
What makes your life sweet?
Helping others live well with diabetes. Seeing someone feel less afraid, more empowered, or finally understand how to manage their blood sugar, that’s what keeps me going. And of course, spending time with my sister, who constantly reminds me why this work matters.
