Sweet Life 2024 highlights

Friends, it has been a thrilling year! Here are a few of the Sweet Life 2024 highlights.

The Sweet Life Chatbot

It was an unusually focused year for Sweet Life, in that we spent most of our time and energy building the Sweet Life Chatbot. We had no idea how much work it was going to be! But we’re absolutely delighted that it is now live – in English and isiZulu! Find out all about it here.

What’s that? You haven’t tried it out yet?! What are you waiting for – you can access it through our launch partners Unu Health, who have an amazing (tiny!) free app that offers you blood pressure, BMI and a health score, and leads you directly into the Sweet Life Chatbot. Download it now!

Sweet Life 7 day meal plan

One of the things we’ve been wanting to do for years is a healthy eating meal plan that works for the whole family. Meals that South Africans are already eating, but given a healthy twist so that they adhere to the goal of 1/2 plate of vegetables, 1/4 plate of protein and 1/4 plate of high fibre starch. Take a look and let us know what you think!

The Sweet Life Cookbook

Another big goal of ours that we brought to life this year is the Sweet Life Cookbook. It’s a veg-forward, low-cost, lower-carb, local cookbook and we are so delighted to offer it for free as a download here, with 10,000 printed copies being given away at Clicks Clinics nationwide. Find your copy now!

#WearBlueforDiabetes & Know the 5

What a beautiful National Diabetes Month celebration we had this year! Our community got so involved, wearing blue and spreading awareness of the 5 symptoms of diabetes far and wide. We had 9 #WearBlueforDiabetes champions, one from each province, telling us about life with diabetes all over South Africa. And we had some amazing 5 Symptoms Challenges entries.

We worked with PnP School Club to reach 100 underserved schools across Western Cape, Gauteng and KwaZulu/Natal, and many of them took part in the 5 Symptoms School Challenge. But this year, we also had the 5 Symptoms Friends Challenge and the 5 Symptoms Families Challenge! Take a look at these awesome entries:
