How bad is smoking for people with diabetes?

Hi there,

My sister is a Type 1 diabetic and smokes every hour a cigarette.

I try to convince her to stop smoking but to no avail. Can you please assist with more information or advice?

God Bless!

  1. Hi Phil! Your sister is lucky to have such a caring brother 🙂
She’s probably so sick of hearing that she has to stop smoking that she can’t really hear it any more, if you know what I mean?
Could you encourage her to join this group and start reading our community blog on http://www.sweetlife.org.za – and then sign up (or you can sign up for her) to get our quarterly diabetes lifestyle magazine? At least then she won’t feel like she’s the only one with diabetes struggling with the condition. The magazine is coming out in November and will be an inspiring take on living with diabetes – how to live your best life with diabetes.
Maybe she can be encouraged by all the other diabetics here trying to live a little healthier?
